Polonnaruwa Kingdom

'Anuradhapura' the first kingdom of Sri Lanka was ended due to the weak rulers their and the invasions of the South Indians 'chola'. After chola emperors invaded Sri Lanka they chose Polonnaruwa as their new Kingdom. That's why you can see number of hindu temples there in the polonnaruwa kingdom.

Panduwasnuwara

'Panduwasnuwara Kingdom' is situated in Kurunegala district in north western province, Sri Lanka.This is the first Kingdom of Sri Lanka. The first king in Sri Lanka 'King Vijaya' sent a message to his father in India, 'king Sinhabahu' by saying send his brother 'prince Sumith' to Sri Lanka to accept the kingdom after him. But when they recieve the message 'king Sinhabahu' has passed away and 'king Sumith' was their new king. Therefore king sumith sent his son 'prince Panduwasdew' to Sri Lanka. after he became the king of Sri Lanka the name of the kingdom was known as 'Panduwas nuwara'.
